Intelligent Reflecting Surface (IRS)-Aided Covert Wireless Communications With Delay Constraint

چکیده
This work examines the performance gain achieved by deploying an intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) in covert communications. To this end, we formulate joint design of transmit power and IRS reflection coefficients taking into account communication covertness for cases with global channel state information (CSI) without a warden’s instantaneous CSI. For case CSI, first prove that perfect is achievable aid even single-antenna transmitter, which impossible IRS. Then, develop penalty successive convex approximation (PSCA) algorithm to tackle problem. Considering high complexity PSCA algorithm, further propose low-complexity two-stage where analytical expressions IRS’s are derived. derive constraint analytically facilitating optimal phase shift design. consider three hardware-related constraints on amplitudes determine their designs together power. Our examination shows significant can be

In this paper, we explore the impacts of utilizing intelligent reflecting surfaces (IRS) in a power-splitting based simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (PS-SWIPT) system and compare its performance with the traditional decode and forward relaying system. To analyze a more practical system, it is also assumed that the receiving nodes are subject to decoding cost, and they are on...

Ultra-reliable, low latency communications (URLLC) are currently attracting significant attention due to the emergence of mission-critical applications and device-centric communication. URLLC will entail a fundamental paradigm shift from throughput-oriented system design towards holistic designs for guaranteed and reliable end-to-end latency. A deep understanding of the delay performance of wir...

Low probability of detection (LPD) communications are conducted at a low received signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) to deter eavesdroppers to sense the presence of the transmitted signal. Successful detection at intended receiver heavily relies on the processing gain achieved by employing the direct-sequence spread-spectrum (DSSS) technique. For scenarios that lack a sufficiently low SNR to maintain ...
متن کاملCovert Communications with A Full-Duplex Receiver over Wireless Fading Channels
In this work, we propose a covert communication scheme where the transmitter attempts to hide its transmission to a full-duplex receiver, from a warden that is to detect this covert transmission using a radiometer. Specifically, we first derive the detection error rate at the warden, based on which the optimal detection threshold for its radiometer is analytically determined and its expected de...
